Activities

PNNL's Community and Regional Outreach achieves its goal of being a vital science and technology resource and a vital neighbor through:

  • enhancing our community's quality of life and generating corporate goodwill through our corporate contributions program and employee involvement activities
    • In calendar year 2007, 1,723 Team Battelle volunteers logged 19,985 hours which is equivalent to $360,729.25.
    • Battelle has given more than $17 million dollars through its Corporate Contributions to a variety of civic and philanthropic organizations.
  • providing experienced and knowledgeable PNNL speakers for meetings and events through the PNNL Speakers Bureau and the Community Science and Technology Seminar Series
  • communicating with regional policy makers on key science and technology news, through the Pacific Northwest Technology Today newsletter
  • conducting tours, on-site and off-site events and conferences for key clients, policy makers and opinion leaders through the Protocol Office
  • fostering Regional Advocacy by developing political and business acumen among staff members.
