Editor's Note:
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is working with companies around the Pacific Northwest to find ways to create greener buildings. “Green Buildings” are not only a benefit to the environment, but also serve as cost savings for the consumer. In a study being conducted at PNNL, results showed sustainable buildings cost 13% less to operate and use 26% less energy.
In this issue of Pacific Northwest Technology Today we are highlighting the research being conducted at PNNL on building efficiency. As new buildings are constructed around the Pacific Northwest and across the Nation, companies (and home owners) are becoming more aware of ways to make buildings more energy efficient. PNNL has been the pioneer on many of the technologies that are establishing “Green Buildings” around the nation.
