Gerry Stokes delivers initial seminar series presentation

The first Community Science and Technology Seminar Series lecture was delivered on February 16 by Dr. Gerald Stokes, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory associate laboratory director for environmental and health sciences. His topic was the future of environmental science and technology.

"Scientists have a responsibility to help ensure that we can grow and sustain our economy and lifestyle without creating more environmental problems than we solve," Stokes said. His presentation examined the environmental impact on human health and new approaches to dealing with current environmental issues and technologies that will ensure responsible environmental stewardship in the future.
